Staff shifts aren’t set by the manager

Row is a position, column is a day, an empty cell is a shift with nobody on it.

Stories Lounge is a venue where people work in shifts: floor, bar, kitchen, host. Every day of the week has to be covered across every position, and that’s a separate job nobody counts as work.

Problem

The schedule was kept by the manager — between the floor, the suppliers and everything else, in the evening, on the move. The placement lived in their head, and a gap in a shift only showed up on the day itself. It doesn’t show up on a spreadsheet — it shows up on the floor: in the queue at the bar, and in the review the next morning.

Specialist

We built an AI specialist whose only job is shifts: it places people by day and by position and holds the whole schedule — so no shift is ever left uncovered. Now that’s someone’s only job, and the whole placement is laid out, visible to everyone.

For this same venue we built a second specialist — one that runs interviews. The owner ordered it themselves, after the first.
